Title: Success rate of students of the TV and Sport Management study programme in selected subjects during full-time and distance learning Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor's thesis was to compare the success rate of students of the bachelor's degree study program Management of physical education and sports during face-to-face and then distance learning, while focus was on students of the 1st year of the bachelor's degree program Management of physical education and sports. Methods: In the first part of the thesis, it was applied a quantitative method, i.e. comparasion. To carry out the research, it was first necessary to obtain data on the study results of 1st-year students in the academic years 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 for specific obligatory accreditation subjects. This data was provided to me in an anonymized form by the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis using the Study Information system of the Charles University. Research and core set represented 1-st year students who had enrolled specific obligatory accreditation subject in the monitored academic years, regardless of whether they passed or not. In the second (qualitative) part of the research was conducted semi-structured in-depth interview with teachers of those subjects, where significant deviations and...

The intensity of teachers’ use of teaching methods and its impact on learning outcomes
Korbel, Václav
One of the two principal aims of the Czech Republic’s national Strategy for Education Policy up to 2030+ is to transform both the content of school curricula and the methods used to teach them. For example, greater emphasis is to be placed on group activities, project-based teaching, the application of knowledge to various contexts and enquiry-based learning. Yet, to date, rather few studies have analysed how different types of teaching methods are used by primary school teachers in the Czech Republic or at the equivalent level abroad and what impacts their use has on learning outcomes. This study uses longitudinal data from a representative sample of primary school pupils to analyse what percentage of lessons — in the Czech Republic and abroad — make use of four specific teaching approaches: 1) lecturing, 2) appropriation, 3) comprehension and 4) testing. We then look into the relationship between these teaching methods and pupils’ progress in reading skills and mathematics between the fourth and sixth years of primary school. The data on teaching methods was gathered from fourth year primary school teachers via a questionnaire as part of TIMSS 2011. To estimate the relationship between teaching methods and learning outcomes, we make use of the fact that the pupils were tested in two subjects in both years. This means that we can estimate the difference in progress made when pupils are taught using each method with greater or lesser intensity in the two subjects (pupil level fixed-effects).

IN ENG Name of thesis: Competence Design of Addiction Studies Pregraduates Background: The study program addictology is an interdisciplinary field dealing with treatment and prevention of addictions and addictive behavior. The field of addictology is still looking for its position, helpful could be creating a document defining competencies of this profession that would bring transparency in practice and in the context of other related disciplines. Methods: The research file consists of the accreditation files of the pregraduate degree of addictology study program and information about the subjects taught in the Charles University Study Information System which were subjected to the content analysis and the Q-RAM project methodology was used to formulate the learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, general competencies), these were...

This period was chosen because the author's intention was to assess a longer period of time based on data in the CSI Annual Reports. The annual report for the last school year was available at the time of writing. The aim is to identify and evaluate tendencies in pre-school education within a given time frame. The text is divided into several parts, dealing with pre-school education in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part outlines the development of pre-school institutions and the external conditions of pre-school education. Interactivity principle in multimedia learning materials in 3rd and 4th grade primary school students
Tetourová, Tereza ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Lukavská, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of this study was to investigate, whether the aspect of interactivity (meaning problem solving interactivity) implemented in multimedia learning materials would positively influence learning outcomes of students. The third and fourth-grade pupils had been split up in two groups and they learned about a topic of natural sciences for about 20 minutes. The first group were studying from an interactive material - short educational game. The second group were studying from a noniteractive material - short educational animation. As variables we have chosen the following - the learning outcomes of the pupils, the amount of motivation to manipulate with the educational tool and the evaluation of atractivity of this tool. Based on multimedia learning theories (CTML, CATLM), we assumed that interactivity would enhance the extent of motivation, evaluation of atractivity and the learning outcomes. Our results partially confirmed our hypothesis. We found positive effect on motivation and evaluation, nevertheless we found no effect on learning outcomes - there was no difference between the groups within this domain. As one of the possible explanations we propose Sweller's cognitive load theory. KEYWORDS Multimedia learning, interactivity, educational animation, educational game, learning outcomes
